FloodMaps now covers Florida. Type an address anywhere in the state's 67 counties and see its FEMA flood zone, what FEMA's newest draft map would change, the storms that brought flood claims to the neighborhood, how high the ground sits, and a flood risk rating, all in plain language.
We built FloodMaps in Houston, where thousands of homes outside FEMA's high-risk zones flooded in Hurricane Harvey. Florida has the same gap: a large share of flood insurance claims come from homes the map calls moderate or low risk. A flood zone is where a report starts, not where it ends.
What a Florida report shows
- Today's FEMA flood zone, including coastal V zones, Coastal A, and the Limit of Moderate Wave Action, where FEMA expects waves of 1.5 feet or more.
- FEMA's draft maps where FEMA has issued them, preliminary or pending, and whether they would move the lot into or out of a high-risk zone.
- Past storms near the home: flood insurance claims per 100 homes in the neighborhood and FEMA aid records from 14 storms since 2016, including Irma, Michael, Ian, Idalia, Helene, and Milton, plus FEMA and county damage inspections where inspectors visited.
- Ground height from lidar at the house and across the lot, with an estimated first-floor height you can adjust.
- Property records from the county property appraiser through the state tax roll, and county elevation certificates where counties publish them.
- Local conditions: Florida's coastal construction control line, sinkhole reports, canals and streams, nearby tide and stream gauges, and street-flooding reports in Miami-Dade County, Broward County, the City of Tampa, and Leon County.
- A flood risk rating ranked against other Florida homes, with condo buildings ranked against other condo buildings.

The free check shows an address's flood zone, which past storms brought flood claims to its neighborhood, and how high the water rose at the nearest gauge. The full report adds the risk rating and what drives it, the draft map, ground height across the lot, what nearby homes pay for flood insurance, the storm-by-storm record, AI answers, and a PDF. It's $7 for one address, or $19 for 90 days of unlimited reports.
Condos are scored as buildings
In a condo, flood risk mostly belongs to the building: the lobby, the parking garage, the elevators, the electrical room, and the association's repair bill. FloodMaps scores the building, then shows how high your unit's floor sits above the flood line.
Florida flood maps by county and city
Every county and Florida's larger cities have their own page with flood zone coverage, past storms, and draft map status. Start at the Florida flood maps hub, or go straight to Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, Hillsborough, Pinellas, Lee, Duval, Orange, and Escambia counties, or the cities of Miami, Tampa, Cape Coral, St. Petersburg, Jacksonville, and Pensacola.
What a report is, and what it isn't
A FloodMaps report is an estimate from public data from FEMA, NOAA, USGS, the Florida Department of Revenue, Florida DEP, and county governments. It isn't a survey, an Elevation Certificate, a flood zone determination, or an insurance quote. Every source, how current it is, and how to check it yourself is on Our Data.
